Red Crown..and..Is Winter Coming Back?

SOLD

I woke up this morning to see that all is white with snow. WHAT is April trying to do to us? And most people have changed their winter car tires to summer ones just before this. Thank God I had this pomegranate to work on, since I couldn't have gone out to buy anything new in this horrid weather!

Pomegranate and Grapes

Here's my latest work - I got up bright and early, inspired by the snow swirling outside the window, and made the white background of the pomegranate the color of the snow.

September Teacup

SOLD

This is the finished work of what I posted a few days ago. The process above is in three phases, the second one being the one I posted on the 14th. The flower in the background is from my garden, but, sadly, the fruit are from the store. :) Shipping is free!

Pomegranate II

SOLD
Couldn't resist painting this pomegranate a second time. The previous painting was vertical, and this one is horizontal.
Have a good weekend!!

Pomegranate

I was so happy to find this absolutely beautiful pomegranate in
the store! It's red you could probably say. But when you take it in your hands - its skin has so many colors! I like the combination of warm and cold colors in the pomegranate. This is what makes a painting richly colorful.
I made a close-up photo, so you could see my brush strokes closer. Thanks for watching!

Close-Up

Today I wanted to try something different. I looked inside my refrigerator... to look for something to paint. There were no lemons left -- only a pomegranate. Not in the mood to paint the whole thing, I broke the fruit in three misshapen blobs. At first, I thought my painting would have an upright halved pomegranate on it... but then when I broke it in pieces, they just flopped onto the table, all flimsy-like, so this is how come this pomegranate is a lying-down close-up, staring you in the eye. Altough this is not what I expected, I satisfied with the outcome.

Holiday Colors

Although the holidays are pretty much over, I haven't had a chance to paint much red and green. I wasn't planning on painting anything festive, but I had this sudden urge to prolong the holiday season! Happy New Year to everyone!
